I have no tomorrows
To feel the sun on my face
While I drink my morning coffee.
I have no tomorrows
To snuggle with my kitties
And get the cat hair off my clean shirt before work.
I have no tomorrows
To be grateful for my job
And the ability to enjoy the things that I need and even a few extras.
I have no tomorrows
To take a breather at the end of my day
And feel the sunshine on my face and hear birds in the trees.
I have no tomorrows
To cook supper for myself and my husband
And enjoy the nourishment of food and togetherness.
I have no tomorrows
To call up a friend
Just because I want to chat.
I have no tomorrows
To cherish the solitude of a quiet evening
With a hot bath, my Bible and a cup of tea.
I have no tomorrows
To enjoy the feeling of cool sheets
And drift off to a peaceful sleep.
I have no tomorrows
To do any of these things
Because I can do them all
Today.
I liked this poem. It reminds me of how tomorrow is not promised to us and how we should try to appreciate the things of today. Good work.
